Your legal obligations as a landlord
Annual gas safety check
Under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, all landlords must have gas appliances, fittings and flues checked every 12 months by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Provide a copy to tenants
You must give your tenants a copy of the gas safety record within 28 days of the check, and to new tenants before they move in.
Keep records for two years
Gas safety records must be kept for a minimum of two years. We store your records securely and send reminders when renewals are due.
